Courts across the United States offer online dispute resolution (ODR) tools as a convenient way for self-represented litigants to resolve small claims cases online. Based on evaluations of these tools between 2020 and 2022, RSI found that participation in the programs was low, likely due to an information gap: courts were failing to make litigants aware of ODR programs and how to use them, and litigants needed more information about ODR in order to decide whether or not they would benefit from participating.
To address these challenges, RSI convened a focus group to investigate the reasons behind low participation. They identified a number of key barriers to usage and developed innovative solutions for the courts. The RSI team sought the help of Limetree to design and build a microsite that effectively showcases their research in an engaging and dynamic format.
We leveraged RSI's existing visual identity as a starting point for the microsite to ensure a cohesive user experience across the web while differentiating the OPEN Project through a new project logo, bolder use of color, playful animated typography, and fresh photography.
